I have a secret, for the last couple months as a side project we've been crawling Twitter with the idea to create a small niche vertical search of tweets. But the more I come across cools applications like Twitterholic, Tweetstats, Twubble, Tweet Scan, twemes etc. the more I think we can do more with our data. So my question to anyone caring to answer is; If you had a rockin application you'd like to see built for Twitter, what would it be?
You never know, we might just build it.

People really like the self discovery websites on the internet. A clear example is the success of all these websites which run simple little survey that a user can fill up and know what kind of a "matrix character" or "fall color" etc. they are.
Based on this observation, I suggest: A personality classifier or mood categorizer based on an individual's twitter feed could be quite popular.
Whole social networks or communities can be built around personality classifiers as there is a certain group thing related to this because a personality is common and relative to others.
Coupling with a visualization tool suggested by Chad (Udell) goes well with this concept. However, i dont think a trend visualization by itself does much for a non-researchy user as i have seen with some very cool blogging trend visualization systems.
